Connecticut’s Trusted Nonferrous Scrap Buyers
We pay top prices for copper, brass, aluminum, wire, and other nonferrous metals — with certified scales, honest grading, and same-day payment on every load. Family-owned and serving Connecticut since 1972.
Top Prices for Copper, Brass, and Aluminum
At P.C. Metals, our nonferrous pricing is tied directly to current commodity markets — not arbitrary yard rates. We track COMEX and regional mill pricing daily, and we pass those numbers along to our customers. Whether you’re bringing in a truckload of #1 bare bright copper or a few pounds of old aluminum siding, we grade every load honestly and pay accordingly.
Connecticut businesses and scrappers trust us because we’ve built that trust over 50+ years. We don’t lowball, we don’t bury the price in deductions, and we don’t play games with the scale. You see the weight, you see the grade, you see the price — and you get paid the same day.
Copper
Bare bright, #1 copper, #2 copper, light and leaded copper tubing. We grade on-site and pay market rates for every tier.
Brass
Clean brass, irony brass, yellow brass fittings, shells, faucets, and plumbing fixtures. Separated material earns you more.
Aluminum
Old sheet, cast, clips, siding, extrusions, litho, and rims. We buy all standard grades at competitive pricing.
Insulated Wire
Romex, THHN, extension cords, harness wire, cat wire, and mixed insulated copper or aluminum. Separate by type for the best price.
Stainless & High-Temp Alloys
300 and 400 series stainless steel, Inconel, Monel, titanium, and scrap carbide inserts and shapes.
Other Nonferrous
Auto batteries, die cast, zinc, lead (soft, hard, and range). If it’s nonferrous and you’re not sure — just call us.

Our Process
We keep things simple and transparent. No surprises, no hidden deductions. Here’s what to expect when you bring your nonferrous scrap to P.C. Metals.
Pull In and Check In
Drive onto our yard at 270 Central Ave in Bridgeport. Our team will greet you, take a look at what you’ve got, and direct you to the unloading area. First time here? No worries — we’ll walk you through the whole thing.
Sorting and Grading
We sort and grade your nonferrous materials on-site. Copper, brass, aluminum, wire — each material gets graded individually. The better you separate before you arrive, the more you’ll earn. If you have questions about grading, we’re happy to explain every call we make.
State-Certified Digital Scales
Every piece of nonferrous scrap is weighed on our state-certified digital scales. You’ll see a gross weight, tare weight, and net weight for each material. Want to verify an empty bin weight? Just ask — we’ll tare it right in front of you.
Get Paid — Same Day
You’ll receive an itemized receipt showing every material, its weight, and its price. We pay immediately — cash for most amounts, check if you prefer. No waiting, no runaround. You walk in with scrap and walk out with money.
Want the full breakdown? Visit our Our Process page for more details on what to expect and how to prepare your load.
What Affects Your Nonferrous Price
Nonferrous scrap pricing isn’t one-size-fits-all. Several factors determine what you’ll get paid. Understanding these helps you maximize the value of your load.
Material Purity
Clean, separated material always earns a premium. #1 bare bright copper pays significantly more than mixed or contaminated copper. Fewer attachments and coatings means a higher price.
Contamination
Plastic, rubber, steel, solder, and paint reduce your grade. Irony aluminum or brass with steel fittings still attached gets docked. A few minutes of prep before you arrive pays off.
Weight & Volume
Larger loads can command better pricing. If you’re bringing in consistent industrial volumes, talk to us about setting up an account with negotiated rates for your material stream.
Market Timing
Nonferrous prices move with COMEX and global commodity markets. Copper, aluminum, and brass fluctuate daily. Call us for today’s prices before you load up — we’re always transparent.
